Completed Work:

Silicon Valley Advisors LLC: This California Corporation engaged Urbanist Solutions to develop a prototypical proforma for combined live/work housing to spark retail and revitalization in the City of Avondale, Arizona. SVA is a retail developer under contract to Avondale and they, in turn, have asked US to assist with the project. Deliverables were completed in May, 2008.

Anthem Park is a mixed-income, mixed-use development in the heart of Vancouver’s Uptown area. The development includes a 58-unit apartment building for residents who earn 60% of area median income or below, 22 market-rate townhomes, 2 retail spaces, a ½ acre park with a water feature, and a sky bridge that connects the park to the existing Columbia House Senior Apartments.

Central Park Place was built after the model of Single Room Occupancy (SRO) hotels that were once a part of every city. The building contains 88 SRO apartments, 35 studio apartments, and a two-bedroom unit for an apartment manager. It also offers a community kitchen, library, recreation areas, and outdoor garden spaces. Central Park Place opened in 1999.

Esther Short Commons is a mixed-use, mixed income development with 160 one, two, and three bedroom apartments and 20,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space, including an 8,500 s.f. permanent home for the Vancouver Farmers Market. To combine affordable housing with other uses on this key piece of downtown property, the VHA co-developed Esther Short Commons with private developer Thomas Kemper of KemperCoLLC. The site is directly to the west of Esther Short Park in Vancouver on the
former site of the American Legion Post #14.

Plum Meadows is a 162-unit Vancouver Housing Authority affordable rental housing development built on the site of the former Fruit Valley Elementary School. The project is the result of a collaborative effort to revitalize one of Vancouver’s oldest neighborhoods and preserve the neighborhood’s elementary school.

Springbrook Square/YMCA, the co-location of the Clark County Family YMCA and Springbrook Village. This 23 acre mixed-use development includes the 45,000 s.f. YMCA facility, privately developed retail space, and 296 units of workforce housing.
